Fairfax Museum and Visitor Center: A Fascinating Local Attraction

Fairfax Museum and Visitor Center are one of Fairfax’s most popular attractions. If you’re looking for something fun and educational to do in Fairfax, be sure to check out the Museum and Visitor Center! Learn more here.

The Museum and Visitor Center is a fascinating local attraction for several reasons. One, it is the site of the Fairfax County Courthouse, which has been standing since 1800. The museum chronicles Fairfax County’s rich history through exhibits and displays. And three, the museum offers a variety of educational programs for all ages. The Fairfax Museum and Visitor Center first opened its doors to the public in 1974. At that time, it was just a tiny courthouse with a few exhibits on Fairfax County’s history. Over the years, however, the museum has undergone several expansions and renovations. Today, it houses over 200 artifacts that tell the story of Fairfax County from its earliest days to the present day.
